normally i like weiss, but you'll note that he ends his tirade against US govt accounting practices with a mention of Treasuries issued by the same body as a safe haven. in any case i am not sure it matters if he is correct and these stats are all bogus. the point is that the public believes a certain reality and acts on it. perception IS reality. beyond its other failings, the Fed has done an admirable job convincing the world that things are hunky dory. maybe that is all that matters in the end.

I would think that the inability to pay principal and interest would be one of the possible reasons the truth comes out. Would not a mixture of foreign treasuries be safer. This is like saying your house is smoldering make sure you get all your valuables to the attic. Even if they do pay it will be in devalued dollars, not good advice in my mind. I've heard something to the effect that Icelandic bonds were fixed to inflation, also there are a few well run low debt countries out there. Dear Dr. Martin Weiss, Ph.D. YOU ARE A "GENIUS" Well if you know already all of this...then why don't you run for PRESIDENT or VICE PRESIDENT? We need someone like you with WISDOM, INTELLIGENCE AND INTEGRITY! I wouldn't even mind working for you for a PRICE of INTEGRITY! You know I've been pondering about what you wrote for years now and it just burned inside of me to know all of this and not be able to do something about it! I am going to the university double majoring in information systems and Business....and in my one class called HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT...I had even posed some of the questions that are along the line of what you wrote here and this teacher couldn't even answered me! And he's a P.h.D too! As you see the corrupted invisible bad network behind this machination of cheating the taxpayers are so powerful that even Ph.D. teachers can't do anything about it, they teach the subject and once the students graduate, they will have to fend for themselves and I don't think that it should be so!!! Since the 1980's when the internet started making headways into the public's use, I've been "watching" it...lurching into the 1990's I started suspecting electronic "data and finance siphoning" which is very hard to trace or track! I had "sensed" it but I couldn't prove it. The most I could do was to call MCI to NOT MERGE WITH WORLDCOM (as I used to be a customer of MCI!) I told them over and over but they didn't listen to me. I knew it would be a disaster way before they even merged! Then the same devils tried to do it to SPRINT but luckily SPRINT listened to me. The problem with why the PENTAGON, DEFENSE and many other gov't agencies as well as big private companies are stumbling in their accounting books and financial databases is because of the devious, dishonest computer gurus who are great hackers working for someone who pay them lots of money remotely as well as locally. Many student graduates who graduated can't measure up to professional thugs/crooked HACKERS! Just look at the federal gov't computers and databases, they've been fooled by contractors for years thinking that they would have a reliable system but they don't! Example, the FBI, the IRS, some Defense branches...etc... It's dismal! Then the 9-11 was like a blackmail coup to our economy! I mean HOW "BAD" and UNRELIABLE CAN THIS U.S. GOVERNMENT BE? We face an explosion of population with the wrong kind of people too...the kind who are mostly spineless, stupid, lazy and illeterate! George W. Bush preaches today that everyone should be "literate" yet Congress has even raised the interest rates on student loans, diminishing grants so how can everyone be literate? Does that mean that only the rich can go to school and be literate? Not every rich person is born smart or wants to be studious! There is so much to tell but that would take a novel to do so.... but you got my jist! I think you should raise an "army" of some sort and bring in more people who think like you into your smart circle and REVAMP this whole DECREPIT, INEFFICIENT SYSTEM that we all suffer through and have to endure willy nilly! It's a terribly corrupted system and there are more idiots who just such the lifeblood out of our economical system too! The next fear I have is that I think the ennemies are banding together around us, look at South America, Africa, and 3/4 of Asia, mark my word, they are forming a sort of "conspiracy" and eventually teaming up with them other bad guys like the terrorists....and that could be worse than 9-11!!! Movies like FIREWALL, THE NET, SYRIANA make excellent statements but I think life emulates it to do the very bad thing that the movie showed.
