The problem is that the terminology is outdated. Barry Goldwater would
be called a 'leftist' these days, same with Eisenhower, Patton or even
Ghengis Kahn for that matter.

What we really are facing is a revival of the much older "reactionary Whigs"
vs. "wild injun' lovers" paradigm.

Oh, pshaw, I find a couple of folks here to be very persistent Whigs.
